J-Ring Apparatus is used for determining the passing ability (measured by the blocking step), the flow spread and t500 flow time of the self compacting concrete as the concrete flows through the J-Ring.

SCC Slump Cone test is performed for determining the slump flow and t500 time for self-compacting concrete. The test is not suitable when the maximum size of the aggregate exceed 40 mm. The test is performed with the slump cone and steel plate.

V-Funnel Apparatus is used to determine the V-funnel flow time. The test is not suitable when the maximum size of the aggregate exceeds 20 mm.

This method is not applicable to concrete containing fibers or lightweight aggregates.
