This design is based on the old "Hutt Valley Engineering" design.

The light-weight beam weighs only 9.3 kg.
Operators are sensitive to weight because they are constantly picking them up and putting them down.
Ideal for heavy users.

The catch for protecting the dial gauge after a reading is quicker to operate.

The clamp on the single leg at the back can be locked up solid.
