RoadReader Model 3430 & 3440 Moisture Density Gauges

The Model 3430 is the simplest and most economical gauge offered by Troxler.

This gauge offers many features, including:
  • Improved operation and reliability with updated electronics
  • Fast recharge with NiMH batteries
  • Easier to read in all lighting situations with an enlarged backlit display screen - 8mm characters

Optional features for the Model 3430 include:

4640-B Surface Thin Layer Density Gauge

Recognizing the need for an improved method of measuring the density of thin layer asphalt overlays, Troxler developed the first true thin layer density gauge, the 4640-B Surface Thin Layer Density Gauge.

Designed to measure the density of thin asphalt and concrete layers from 2.5 to 10 cm
(1 - 4 inches), the Troxler Model 4640-B Thin Layer Density Gauge accurately measures the overlay density without influence from underlying material. No nomographs or manual corrections are required in order to compute the true density of the overlay. With onsite results available in as little as one minute, the Model 4640-B can provide the user with test results when they are needed, not hours after compaction has been completed.

PaveTracker™ Model 2701-B Plus Non-Nuclear Gauge

The PaveTracker™ Model 2701-B Plus is an electromagnetic density indication device for asphalt quality control measurements.

This gauge contains no radioactive material, so no licensing or special training is required to own or operate this equipment. Your entire asphalt paving team could be ready to perform asphalt quality control measurements at a moment’s notice.

The PaveTracker™ Model 2701-B Plus weighs only 5 kg, and it displays measurement results in only two seconds. This allows the user to measure larger areas in a shorter amount of time. If problem areas are found, further compaction effort can quickly be made to increase the density of the asphalt. Areas of segregation, low density, and/or other non-uniformity are easily detected by the PaveTracker, which allows the
operator to resolve issues before construction completes.

There is no need to enter potentially inaccurate corrections for moisture and temperature.
Standard Features:
  • Reference test plate built into the case allowing the operator to test the unit as often as desired
  • Two handles are standard - detachable longer L shaped handle and an attached bail handle
