Impact Soil Tester (Clegg hammer)
Impact soil tester is used to obtain an indication of the degree of compaction of soil in road construction. Results can be directly correlated to the CBR test. CONTROLS model:
G-T0168/B/KIT: Digital impact soil tester. Full scale 100IV. Reference Standard ASTM D5874. Calibration and carrying case included.
The unique microprocessor system automatically checks all readings throughout the test and displays the fourth reading as the Impact Value. An essential trench control tool for all cable and pipe laying service contractors. Peak values are shown on a digital display. One Impact Value unit on the 0-100 display scale equals ten "g" (gravitational deceleration). Operation: The tester measures the deceleration of a hammer free-falling onto the soil surface. The Impact Value is determined after four hammer drops to the same spot. Speed and ease of use enable many tests to be performed over a wide area. As many as 250 tests can be performed in a half-day. The Standard 10 lb (4.5kg) model with 18" (450mm) drop and 2" (50mm) diameter hammer face is the original version, in use for over 20 years for evaluation of compacted soil and pavement materials with aggregates below 1.5" (38mm). |
We can also supply the 4.5kg Professional Clegg Impact Soil Tester, providing IV and inferred CBR readings. Used primarily in the roading, base course, drainage and re-course/re-in-statement industries.
G-CleggHammer: Professional Clegg Hammer 4.5 kg, CIST/883 display. Calibration and transport case included. Clegg Hammer 4.5kg comes with CIST/883 display, controller with alkaline batteries, NZ dated calibration sticker, test ring, NZ test calibration certificate - laminated, user manual and heavy duty transport case. Bluetooth and GPS models of the Clegg Professional are also available upon request. |
