Used to determine the moisture content at which clay soils pass from a plastic to a liquid state. Comprises: removable brass cup, adjustable crank and cam mechanism, blow counter, and base.

The Australian liquid limit device is a hand operated unit designed and manufactured to conform to Australian Standard (AS1289.3).
It can be combined with a NZS calibrated bowl for a complete device to NZS 4402.2.2 G-CL20110NB: Liquid limit (Casagrande) manual device complete with NZS calibration Also available is machine fitted with an electric motor which gives the required rate of two revolutions per second. A mechanical counter is fitted which automatically records the number of drops during a test. |
