The determination of the specific gravity and density of fine soils is developed through three different operations: the sample, introduced in the specific gravity bottle, has to be thermostatically normalized by immersion in a suitable water bath complete with Adjustable tray and Cover with cooling coil, then de-aired using a dessicator connected to a vacuum pump and finally, weighted.
